Well I currently have several projects on the go...War Altar, Weirdboy Battle Tower, CRM Rough Riders...so naturally yesterday I started building a Deff Dread.
Made a few mods to the standard kit to better fit in with my Ork tanks.
Firstly I had to distress as many panels, edges etc as I could. Neat edges just don't appear on my tanks. I also removed some rivets and replaced them with 1mm rod rivets.
The main change was on the rear though. I didn't like the stock GW exhausts so I took the opportunity to replace them with a big fan unit and a couple of chunky exhausts. Both mirroring the fans and exhausts on my tanks helping to tie the Dread in.
Also added some extra plating to the front and to his crotch. Can't beat a protective crotch plate. Enough to count as Armour Plating.
Undecided yet on the shoulder pads mounted on the top pair of arms. May add them yet, also need to add a few more bits and pieces.
I really like what you have added to him.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard keeping just 1 project at the time but with your skill it doesn't matter. instead of 1 awesome project you will finish 4 at the same time.
that's called efficiency!
I like it, the exhaust system on the back looks far better than the one that comes with the kit, the extra armour plates look good too.
ReplyDeleteThis guy going towards that FW mekboy list?
Cheers for the comments.
ReplyDeleteWarpaintguy: Good in theory providing you can actually finish the projects...
Maelstrom: Yeah, though the plan will be to use either the FW or GW list as required. Naturally I ended up buying far more than I needed for the FW list...couldn't resist having some bikers, stormboys etc which aren't in the FW list.
