Following on from the Blight Drones I have continued on a big painting roll of Nurgle Daemons.
Here is Horticulous Slimux and two Beasts of Nurgle...

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Beasts 6
The other mini-project mentioned in my previous post was to get the new (and final) Plague Toad done.
I did a bit of work on him so he looks a bit different to the other two toads which are the same sculpt.
Made the mouth a bit smaller, added GS to the face, cut off one foot and repositioned it slightly and added a different texture to his back and side.
Originally I was hoping to re sculpt the broken off horn but in the end dismissed the idea due to a lack of sculpting talent.
Instead I cut what was left off then dremeled the area out. I then used the spare horn from Scabby to give him a nice new big horn (the other toads will be jealous). Bit of GS finished it off.
After a paint job this is what he looks like.
Bit rushed, base will prob need a bit more work in the future but he's good enough for tabletop standard which is all I have ever aimed for. At the moment I just haven't got time or concentration for any more than that.

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Bearers & Beasts...continued
So while I do sketches and small mock ups of the Junka to discuss the design with the customer I have continued with the Daemons. Only once I start the actual build will I begin to do updates on RD.
Plaguebearers 7
Another three are done! Only got the standard bearers to do now. They were the three out of the PIP ones I had I was the least happy with when it came to the paint jobs, the standards just seemed lacking. But anyway here are the three musicians...
Beast of Nurgle 5
Along with the 'bearers I carried on with the Beasts and got the last two done...
So the whole unit together...
I would actually like a seventh to round off the unit in a very Nurgley way.

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Bearers & Beasts
In the week I have had back at home after my holiday the most I had managed to do before today was starting to de-sprue bits for the Orky build. Alas work has taken up much of my time.
But now it's the weekend so I got back to playing with toys again.
Today I have mainly been painting Daemons...
Plaguesbearers 6
As I stated in the last post I want to get some of the PIP models finally finished off, so with that I started on the Plaguebearers I ave had in a PIP state for ages.
The first four are now done.
I still have the three standards and three musicians to do.
Beasts of Nurgle 4
As well as finishing off those 'bearers I decided to bring some variety in and I tackled the first of the new batch of toads.
One down, two more to go - which are now in the very early stages of PIP.
Giant Spined Beast 4
I also got the base done for this fellow.
So overall not a bad day, it turned out surprisingly productive.
With that in mind here is the updated State of Play.
A bit more green and best of all a bit more blue.
Tomorrow will be mainly an Orky day...

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Beasts of Nurgle 4 & State of Play
So the Toad build is done.
I ended up doing little pieces here and there since the last pictures were took. Unfortunately I couldn't pull their horns out, they are just stuck in too well.
I modified a couple of them, adding GS to one and cutting another down. All three are now based, though the one will not be glued to his base till after the painting is done.
The chap above is the one who will be painted before he gets glued into place. I built the base out of some slate and a load of GS. He had his horn cut down and I hollowed out the tip. I'm tempted to take the dremel to it down and deepen the hollow.
I decided to take stock just where I am with the Nurgle Daemon army.
When I started picking up some of Papa Nurgle's minions the plan was to have a small force which I could use either as an allied contingent to my Militia or as a stand alone force in small games such as Zone Mortalis.
It has grown somewhat larger than this.
One reason why I wanted a small Daemon force was for the aim of actually having a painted army, something I have never had despite the amount of years I have spent in this hobby. The other was the limited options available with a mono god daemon army.
Forge World ave meant this army has expanded, the options they provide opens up a mono build to far more interesting paths. GW also chipped in with the Plague Drones which brought something new to the putrid forces of Nurgle.
So shamelessly ripping off the idea from Mordian 7th here is a chart showing the state of each unit.
I didn't realise just how little I had completely finished until I did the above, or just how much I had in a PIP state.
You may notice that there are two Decimators shown, and I now what you are asking 'where is this second Decimator Rictus?', well the answer is somewhere in the postal system as I only bought it off ebay yesterday.
That lot comes to 2700 points, not including Scabby though it does include the GW GUO that I have but don't like - he is just filling in till GW finally redo him. As you can see they really have grown some way past the point of just being allies. I still have a Heavy Support slot unfilled...
I think the way forward is to turn some more of those greens to blue...

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Beasts of Nurgle 3
So unless I can manage to prise loose their horns the three Toads are done.
Tomorrow i'll see if I can pull the horns by pulling firmly, or perhaps wagging them side to side will cause them to come free.
We shall see.

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Beasts of Nurgle 2
So i admit things have been a little quiet of late. A combination of being away for another weekend and work I just haven't had the time to do anything model related.
However I did pick up another set of Plague Toads cheap off ebay.
The paint job, assembly and base weren't exactly great...but at that price they were still a very nice addition.
Last night I started stripping the paint and tonight I started filling gaps with GS and also trying to make them look a little different from the first set of three. I'm not going to go mad converting them just changing the odd detail here and there. Unfortunately I couldn't get their horns out (there was a lot of glue on these, I had to dremel the underside of each toad to get them clean) which was a shame as that would have been a nice and easy way to change their appearance.
From ebay...
And the beginning of the clean up and converting jobs:
I removed the skull from this ones side and I have started to extend the tongue using a spare bit from the Plague Drone kit.
So far this one has just had a bit of GS added to the one 'boney' patch on his head and i've shortened his mouth.
Not started converting this one yet. Thinking maybe doing something with his tongue...

Blessings of the Plaguefather - Beasts of Nurgle
So my toads are now done...
And a scale shot with a Plaguebearer. These buggers are large.
Next up will be the Plague Drone, though the next blog post will be about the IPMS show I went to today.
However I will be working on the Karrier as the priority even as I work on the Plague Drone so it'll be a while before the Drone gets any updates.
