Wound / Hull Markers 3

Last model based update for a bit as I am away for a short break.

However I did grab a few pics of the wound markers before I left. The pictures aren't great I admit...

That should be enough to cover all occasions. Plenty of ones and twos, shouldn't need any more than that often.

I then decided i'd use some more skulls to make some markers.

Six I numbered 1-6 for possible use as Objective Markers. Went for a bronze scheme. Very quick paint job and needs a bit more work when I get back.

The other six were done in a metal/steel scheme. Again a very quick job.

These will be markers of some kind, such as marking a unit affected by a psychic power.

Wound / Hull Markers 2

Just a quick one tonight, and probably the last post till the Heresy Weekender posts I shall be putting up.

For the game of 40k I'll be having after the Weekender I wanted to get the Wound / Hull Marker counters finished so I wouldn't have to deal with the usual hassle of muggled dice etc.

I think that lot should be enough to cover any lost wounds or hull points.

Now I admit the paint jobs were somewhat rushed but frankly they are fine for tokens and the light colour stands out nicely from the Realm of Battle board with the red studs clearly visible.

Just need to finish the last few and I'll be set.

Wound / Hull Markers 1

Very quick update tonight.

For many years I have kept track of wounds (and now hull points) by using dice. However this tends to prove problematic at the best of times.

So I was looking to do some counters instead.

I picked up some skulls from Blood and Skull Industries. The plan was to use these as the markers with something on them to mark how many wounds or hull points were left.

This is idea 1 - inspired by old drawings showing Marines with studs to mark their long service:

So the studs mark the numbers of wounds/hull points left. I'm not sure though how well these stand out so I did a very quick paint job on one to see how well the studs show up...

Still undecided.

So I am going to do a second version with a roman numeral carved into the skull. I'll get that painted as well so I can compare the two ideas.
