Forge World Open Day 2012 - Part 2

Here are a selection of pictures from the two display boards Forge World had set up Sunday.

The first was a full Zone Mortalis board. It looked excellent and was set up with lots of little dioramas.

They added lots of pieces inside the rooms, some recycled from other terrain sets and some scratch built. Hopefully some of these will turn into terrain they sell (this was mentioned by Tony Cottrell in the Q&A session).

And the IA 11 display board, must admit I only got a few pictures of this one as I took so many at previous events.

I was very good at the Open Day, even with all the temptation I only bought two things (plus a few things for other people).

What I did buy was the follow up to the excellent Masterclass book...

And a Show Only Enforcer...which is now on eBay here.

I am now back to getting pieces built for the coming weekend of gaming.

There is not enough time to do the tarps as I have three Grot Tanks to build, should do a post on them tomorrow...

  1. I've really been enjoying coverage of Forge World's Open Day, Great shots of The Zone Mortalis board.

  2. Now you see I have been waiting for someone to get a hold of the Masterclass V2. Can you give us an impression of the book? Expansions on V1? Just reclarifications of methods with citadel only products? What's the buzz?

    1. First impressions of the book are very good (keep in mind I have only had a quick look through so far).

It shows new techniques and materials not used in the first book. The happily use non-GW products as in Vol 1, though the weathering powders they are using are unsurprisingly the FW ones.

  3. Those are some lovely photos of brilliant work.

Just out of curiosity, how much was the enforcer originally?

  4. As a side-note Ric, if you set the camera to medium you'll get a lot more photos and still great photos - it's what I have to go since I have an old, small 512mb drive for mine.

    1. I'm not sure why I would need to, I can fit a couple hundred pictures on the camera easily and I've never got anywhere near that number at any event or occasion.

    2. Yeah, chalk my comment up to mis-reading or reading more into something from your post than was actually there. That'll learn me to post before I have at least half a liter of coke into me.

    3. Ah, I see - I meant I had taken plenty of pictures of that board at other events, hence not taking many of it this time.
