  1. Thank you for amazing photos! Do you have a hi-res pic of updated timeline (this https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YJVKbPwl3Nk/VrdYF257HHI/AAAAAAAAA40/4dQnJIqmtQU/s1600/12666285_10154541684984202_1085667467_n.jpg )? :)

    1. That's ok. Afraid not, getting good pictures of the slide show isn't easy and that is the best I could get and I've posted the full picture rather than a cut down one.

  3. I may be wrong but the Knight and to robot both seem to be 3D printed or CNC'd, which I know they've always said they use high quality devices to protoype stuff but even so it seems a little shocking for them to be on display. They've said int he past 3D printers aren't a threat because the quality isn't there, for home use anyway, but this is clearly evidence of what is possible and it's only time until the domestic market catches up...

    1. They were the first print prototypes. They have shown things like this before - such as the Mastodon at the 40th Birthday event at WHW, it had literally just come off the printer. I am more than happy for them to show off early WIP and prototypes, unlike the insular GW approach FW are always open to showing things as they work on them with the full knowledge things may change and the final product will be the usual high standard.

Coming from someone who has used 3D printing in my own hobby projects I think it will be some time yet before there is domestic 3D printers of high enough quality that don't break the bank. I certainly don't think it is a danger to FW yet as first and foremost you need the skill and vision in order to produce something worth producing.

  4. Indeed Rictus, the printers that will do those things to a saleable level are US$120,000 and up. Unless you print it in 30x40mm sections, in which case it's a paltry ten grand.

I do hope the 'hands' on those Secs are WIP, because otherwise they are just ridiculously underwhelming.
