Blessings of the Plaguefather - Plague Hulk 7

So getting back to some unfinished Daemon projects I set about finishing off the Plague Hulk.

You may remember I was stuck with what to do with his left hand. I cut away the horrible sword and dremelled out the hand, the intention was to replace the sword with something else.

I just couldn't decide what with.

Suddenly yesterday I decided on something.

A hook. Embedded in the Plague Hulks stump.

Not brilliant but I like it enough not to rip it off and start again.

Hook close ups...

Next up will be to get this guy undercoated, hopefully the weather stays nice till the weekend and I can get him done.

I will also aim to get at least one PIP project finished - prob the Plague Bearers.

  1. Hmm I like the hook, but feel like it should be bigger... or spiker...less smooth. The idea is pretty awesome though! It's also hard to get a good sense of proportions when you don't have the model in front of you, so i may be way off!

    1. Nah, I'd think it would look a bit silly if it was big, but the main reason it can't be is that it is for the look only as he won't be armed with the sword upgrade I can't have what was in his hand looking like it might be a counts as Sword.

And my vision of Nurgle isn't spiky. It's rotting, pitted, rusting textures etc So that's what I went with on the surface of the hook. I think it could probably of being a bit less regular in shape though.

  2. Nice hook, now give him a pirate hat and an eye patch and you will have the first pirate plague hulk in the world!

It really does look great You've blended the green stuff to the resin wonderfully. It will look totally natural once painted.

    1. Cheers. I'll leave off the patch and hat though...

Actually the patch is quite tempting.
