IPMS Scale Modelworld 2015

So, I'm not dead.

Though it was a bit closer than expected at one point...

For my first post in over two months (longest by far I have ever gone without posting) here are some pictures from the IPMS Scale Modelworld show I attended today.

As always I wondered round grabbing pics of anything that grabbed my interest, not necessarily the best that was there, just what caught my eye as I walked round. Plus as I have mentioned before certain things, like planes and boats, don't really interest me so it's only once in a while I take a picture of those.

I have to admit I am sure a couple of the models above I saw last year and took pictures of, and probably included in last years post about it.

The one below I include for Sheep, as it is probably the closest he will get to getting Alien V's Predator for a while...

The next set of pictures are from the competition entries:

Picture angle made this Contemptor look a bit odd and squat, it wasn't in real life

Morty!

Is he a cute scythe wielding bastard?

This, was a monster. The Iron Warrior in me is jealous.

Recalcitrant Daze - The Wall

I'm not working on any models at the moment and I can't see that changing in the near future.

Basically I have lost all interest and motivation to pick up a model. It is the last thing I want to be doing at the moment.

So don't expect an update for a bit, unless I think of something else worth putting up instead of models I am working on.

It may change of course, I am away this coming weekend where I will play a few games with the Militia so that may turn things around.

However if it doesn't when I get back I will force myself to do the bit of work on the Heavy Weapon teams then I will pack all the infantry into a box and send it to Sheep to paint. This means the artillery crew, cyclops crew and rough riders won't be going. They will just have to wait to another day. I am not going to put off sending the Militia until I have a change of heart and start working on the outstanding models I have to do as it could be months or longer. I want them gone and done with.

Until I return to working on some models I will have to find something else to fill my time.

There may be the odd update if something peaks my interest.

Recalcitrant Daze - Tats, Art Books and a Painted Junka.

So, that went well.

A highly productive week where I haven't touched a model. It's been that post holiday back to work nightmare week. Combined with a few other things it has meant I've done absolutely nothing hobby wise.

The only good news is that the 3D prints I had done for the Heavy Weapon teams have arrived. So this week I will (probably) be getting on with cleaning those up and getting some moulds and casts done. The mortar and missile launcher teams can them be re-built and finished off.

In other news my latest tattoo was finished off this week...

And in related art news I had the new sketch book by Karl Kopinski turn up. An excellent book from one of my favourite artists. I have always loved sketch work (hence the tat above), and a really nice touch is that in the first 1000 books Karl Kopinski is doing an original sketch inside it. I think he still has a few hundred left from the initial 1000 books, so if you act quickly you can get one with an original one off sketch inside as well.

You can find more info and order the book from Karl Kopinski's Facebook page.

To finish off I had a surprise this week when I had an email from the person who commissioned the last Ork build I did, namely this Junka...

He sent me a few pictures of the now painted Junka. It is very rare I get to see the commissions I do actually with paint on them so it was very nice to get the pictures.

Hopefully this week I will manage to pick up some models.

Fingers crossed.

Recalcitrant Daze - Back at the Grindstone.

I've been on holiday for the last week and before then I seemed to be doing work (as in real life work) all day, hence there not being an update on here for over three weeks.

Hopefully I can get back to the Militia now and get them finished off.

When I arrived home I discovered I had had something delivered while away, namely the paint rack by Massive Voodoo...only eight and a half months late...

I built it yesterday and sorted my paints out. I had to move the picture on the wall to fit it in. These aren't all of my paints, those for the airbrush are kept separate and at the moment at sitting under the shelf on the desk. I will have to knock up a little storage thing for them. They don't need to be on display with easy access like the other paints, when airbrushing I'll simply take the paint I need out ready to go.

Tomorrow I will try and get going on the Militia again - the artillery crew. Not looking forward to it.

In the meantime here are a few pictures from the holiday...(as I have nothing else to show).
